This was the beginning of my dream because I felt I wanted to help, In 3 years, I just worked there and learned a lot that I needed. It even gave me a sense of what society wanted, because the large number of children we received, mostly consisted of street-picked children thrown away by parents (prostitutes).
At that time, I decided to retire from work and changed my direction, I went to Eastern Province, KAYONZA District, MUKARANGE Sector. While there, I started “DON'T CRY YOUTH ASSOCIATION“, which was formed by all the young people who were sex workers (prostitutes) and those who lived on the street at this time I saw that they really needed someone who is close to them, talks to them, and even gave them basic education i.e READING, COUNTING AND WRITING, even praying, Because most of them were having different hard life story again uneducated and others were school dropouts.
While I was teaching these young women, many of them had babies, and some of them were already infected with HIV/AIDS, and the other used drugs. It was a hard task but God enabled me. In all this, I had to find a place to earn money to help me pay the rent and support me as well.
I faced problems with funds, but I established a way of teaching adult people English during evening hours in order to get some financial support so that I can pay rent and remain with some money for self-support as well. But all in all, my wish was to see these young women and boys form a co-operative for making handcrafts and find for them sewing machines to help them make a living.
